In the Lower School, students contribute stories, poems and artwork for Southside Stories, the Lower School literary magazine. Fifth grade students produce articles for The Inkspot, a semi-annual newspaper publication.
Middle School students share their writing and illustration talents in their print newspaper , The Southside Chronicle.
Similarly, Upper School students with an interest in publication have the option to join the student newspaper, The Inkwell, which is celebrated as the oldest school newspaper in the State of Maryland. Currently, The Inkwell is transitioning from a print to digital format for the 2010-2011 school year. Finally, a dedicated group of Upper School students prepare the annual yearbook, The Maroon and White, using state of the art online desktop collaboration and publication software.
