Lower/Middle School Library

The Carolyn Smith Library serves students in grades K-8. The library curriculum for grades K-5 strives to teach boys to appreciate books, recognize the roles of authors and illustrators, access and use information and become lifelong readers. In grades 6-8, students are taught how to conduct research using the library’s subscription services, the print collection and the Internet. In addition they are encouraged to read for pleasure through an independent reading class, reading promotions, and class visits that include book talks.
