Student (grades 6-11) and parent interviews (all grades) are a required part of the application process.  Please schedule your visit in the fall semester of the year preceding the anticipated entry to Boys' Latin. A member of the admissions team will follow up once we receive your visit registration form.

Lower School Applicants:
Applicants to kindergarten, pre-first or first grade need to schedule an individual assessment at Boys’ Latin with a member of our staff. A member of our team will work with you to schedule a date and time for this assessment once an application is completed.

Applicants to grades two through five can complete admissions testing in one of two ways. Applicants may come to Boys’ Latin in December to take standardized skill and ability assessments. A member of our admissions team can help register you for this test date once an application is completed. Students applying to grades two through five who sit for admissions testing at another independent school can request that those results be shared with us.

Middle and Upper School Applicants:
Boys’ Latin has implemented a more flexible set of testing options for our middle and upper school applicants for the 2021-2022 admissions cycle. Candidates for grades six through eleven can complete our testing requirement through one of the following options:

• Submit a result from one of the following standardized tests:  ISEE, SSAT or HSPT. Boys’ Latin typically accepts results only from the ISEE and we ask families electing this option to submit scores electronically to Boys’ Latin directly from ISEE (our school/CEEB code is 210040). A member of our team will be happy to talk to you about submitting results from the SSAT or HSPT, if you elect to use one of these options.
• Submit results from testing completed at your current school during the 2020-2021 school year. For candidates currently attending public schools, that would include tests such as MCAP, MSA, PARCC, etc. For candidates currently attending an independent school, that would include tests such as OLSAT, ERB, Stanford Assessments, etc. Those test results should be sent to Boys’ Latin from your school and appear on an official school transcript or test report. Please contact our office if you have any questions about using this testing  option.

Using our online application system, send a Parent Release Form for grades K, PF, 1  or Transcript Request Form for grades 2-11 to your son's school to have your son's current grades and previous year’s transcripts/report cards sent to Boys' Latin. If you or your son’s school prefers paper forms, click on the links above or below to print the forms and send them to your son's school for processing.

Lower School Applicants:
Applicants are required to submit one AIMS Common Referral Form to be completed by your son's current teacher (reading/language arts or math). These forms are confidential and should be requested by following your son's current school's policy.

You may log in to your online application portal to send this form to your son's teacher electronically. If you, or your son's school, prefer hard copies, you may print the AIMS common referral form (grades K-1 form or grades 2-5 form) and send the form to his current teacher. Forms should be completed after the first marking period of the current school year, and should be sent directly from your son's school to Boys' Latin.

Middle and Upper School Applicants:
We require a common referral form from your son's current English teacher and math teacher. We also welcome a third, optional reference (submitted electronically or via hard copy) from one of your son’s previous year teachers. These forms are confidential and should be requested by following your son's current school's policy.

You may log in to your online application portal to send this form to your son's teachers electronically. If you, or your son's school, prefer hard copies, you may print the AIMS common referral form for grades 6-12 and send one to your son's current English teacher and one to his current math teacher.
