At Boys’ Latin, no boy ever stands alone – especially our boarding students.
We welcome boys from all over the country and around the world into our school, our homes, and our hearts. Here, we build in weekly dorm meetings, group dinners, and the opportunity to mentor our youngest Lakers, ensuring that our boarders are part of our BL community. Boarding fits seamlessly into our mission and represents a bold new chapter in our storied history. A chapter we welcome boarding students to write in partnership with us. And, because it’s designed from the ground up, our curriculum incorporates the latest innovations in both residential and all-boys education – helping us raise boys who thrive in a time when it has never been more challenging or more important.
Boys’ Latin offers an immersive seven-day boarding experience. Students from across the country and around the world will be part of our boarding community.
Families who live closer to campus also may choose a boarding experience for their son(s), providing boys with the opportunity to learn and grow in a boarding environment without being overtaxed by long commutes and busy schedules, while families are near enough to attend Boys’ Latin games, concerts, and on-campus events.
Weekends will be a busy time for boarders. The campus often bustles with athletic competitions, and numerous other BL events and activities, including the annual Bull & Oyster Roast, Fall Festival and Homecoming Weekend. A plethora of activities will be planned for each weekend, including everything from going out for breakfast to visiting museums in Washington D.C. to a ski or tubing trip in the nearby Pocono Mountains. Each of our boarding students will be paired with a day student family for a home-cooked meal, a movie night, or a game at Camden Yards. This is just one more way of integrating boarders into our BL family.
Located on 72 rolling acres of countryside Boys’ Latin is only 15 minutes from downtown Baltimore and a little over an hour from Washington DC. We invite you to see for yourself all the exciting things Baltimore has to offer.
Boys' Latin is excited to welcome Michael Williams to serve as the School's first Director of Boarding.
Michael comes to us with extensive school and boarding experience, having taught history, coached lacrosse, worked as a college counselor, and served as a dorm parent at both Shady Side Academy in Pittsburgh, PA, and Millbrook School in Millbrook, NY.
Michael, originally from Gambrills, MD, is excited to play a vital role in launching Boys' Latin's boarding program and is delighted to be back in Maryland. He, his wife Emily, his two sons Mac and Beau, and his dog Bode are thrilled to be joining the Boys' Latin family.
At Boys’ Latin, each and every one of our students is known -- for who he is today, and all he will be tomorrow.
Our K-12 family is small by design because nearly two centuries of all-boys education has taught us that a close-knit community builds a foundation of confidence. Of compassion. Of curiosity. And of character. Whether working with a day student on a history project in their dorm room, engaging with lower school students in our Laker Buddy Program, or joining a faculty or staff member for dinner in their home, we know that boarding students will be welcomed and embraced by our community. We often say “once a Laker, always a Laker,” and we can’t wait for you to join our Laker family.
THE OPPORTUNITY TO CREATE AND IMPLEMENT AN INNOVATIVE DORM CULTURE AT BOYS' LATIN IS A DREAM COME TRUE FOR MY FAMILY AND ME. WE CONSIDER OURSELVES LUCKY TO BE JOINING SUCH A WELCOMING COMMUNITY WHERE AUTHENTIC RELATIONSHIPS. I LOOK FORWARD TO WORKING ALONGSIDE FACULTY, STUDENTS, ALUMNI, AND ALL LAKERS TO ENHANCE THE BOYS' LATIN CULTURE.
