Jake Stout ’23 Making An Impact on the Court

Jake Stout ’23 Making An Impact on the Court

Congratulations to Jake Stout ’23 on being named to the MIAA basketball All-Conference Team! While being named an all-conference athlete is a noteworthy accomplishment, it is even more impressive when an athlete receives this honor in the highly competitive MIAA A conference.

Jake was a standout for Boys’ Latin throughout the 2021-2022 season, averaging 13.5 points per game (PPG) and recording 50 three-pointers. A contributor from the beginning, Stout opened the season with 17 points and 8 rebounds in a win against rival St. Paul's. In early January, Stout caught fire over a four-game stretch, going 19-33 (57.6%) from 3-point range and averaging 17 PPG.

Not only did Jake make a significant impact on the court, but he proved to be a team leader, always supporting and encouraging his teammates.

“Jake really stepped into an on-court leadership role this year and did so much for our group. He rebounds, defends, brings up the ball against pressure, scores everywhere on the court... it sounds cliche, but he was a true warrior out there and our leader on the court. The All-Conference honor was earned not just for his play but how he competed every second on the floor.” said BL’s first-year varsity basketball coach Adam Spinella.

Spinella is thrilled to have Jake returning for his senior season. Next year, Jake is expected to run the show for the Lakers and to continue to make an impact from beyond the arc. Jake has been receiving a lot of interest from collegiate coaches, and we can’t wait to see where his basketball journey will take him.
