Lakers Athletics in Full Force

As the school year is coming to an end, Boys' Latin athletics have been have been very successful throughout the spring.
Varsity Lacrosse
The varsity lacrosse team hosted St. Paul's earlier this week to wrap up the regular season. With a 19-2 win against the rivals, the Lakers secured the #5 seed in the MIAA "A" Conference Championships.  They are now set to play on Saturday morning at #4 seed Loyola Blakefield in the quarterfinals.  A win on Saturday will send them to the semifinals at the Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium in Annapolis. 
Varsity Baseball
After winning both games of a doubleheader this week (10-0 over Mt. Carmel, 10-1 over Glenelg Country School), the Lakers secured the #1 seed with a record of 9-1.  The Lakers have a bye and will host [TEAM] on Friday. The double elimination tournament starts for other schools on Thursday. We have secured home field throughout the playoffs.
Varsity Tennis
Coach Magee and the playoff-bound team hosted a quarterfinal earlier this week against Archbishop Spalding and won 5-0. Yesterday, the Lakers unfortunately lost the semifinals to #1 seed Park School of Baltimore.  Though the season is over, there is so much to be proud of, as the Lakers finished 5-4.
Varsity Golf
The team competed in the MIAA "B" Conference quarterfinals earlier this week and beat St. Mary's 19-2.  Unfortunately, they lost the semifinals to Annapolis Area Christian School, finishing with a record of 9-5, respectively.  To finish the spring, the Lakers will compete in a tournament on May 17th at Eagle Nest Country Club.
JV Lacrosse
After a dominant win against St. Pauls on Monday and a 6-3 record on the season, the young Lakers defeated Loyola in an upset semi-final win 8-5. The boys will head to Annapolis to face St Mary’s on Monday, at 4 PM for the JV championship game.
