Part of the annual Monument Lighting festivities on December 5 included a performance by the Boys’ Latin lower school chorus. The boys were thrilled to present two 30-minute programs inside The Walters Art Museum, which was open to the public with family-oriented activities during the lighting.
Under the direction of George Bareford, BL’s lower school music teacher, the chorus, only in its second year, is flourishing as a valuable opportunity for boys in grades two through five who are passionate about music and singing. The group’s invitation to perform at the Walters is evidence of its growing reputation for excellence.
Mr. Bareford, a highly seasoned and accomplished musician, holds a Master of Music from The Juilliard School, a Bachelor of Music and Artist Diploma from the Saint Louis Conservatory of Music, a Juris Doctor from The University of Maryland School of Law, and completed graduate studies at the New England Conservatory of Music. His expertise and passion for music education have inspired Boys' Latin's young singers to reach remarkable heights.
