Work began for our middle school robotics team in July, and their excellent results in last weekend's Maryland FLL Robotics State Championship validated all their hard work. The Lakers won the 1st place Robot Design Award and had the highest presentation scores in the program's history. They also finished in 24th place out of 60 teams on the robot board (a scoring error was caught too late in the competition, which would have landed them in 10th place overall). In the third round on the robot board, they showed their resilience and creativity, using their untested backup robot to land their high score for the day.
