MLK Day of Service: Living our Core Values

MLK Day of Service: Living our Core Values

On January 17, the entire Boys' Latin community (grades k-12) united to honor Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. through a meaningful Day of Service.

This annual tradition saw 320 upper school students volunteering at various locations across Baltimore, including Second Chance, the Maryland Food Bank, and the MD SPCA. Through their time and effort, students made a positive impact on these local organizations and the communities they serve.

Middle School students participated in service activities by assembling backpacks for the Kids In Need Foundation. Additionally, they engaged in advisory discussions reflecting on Dr. King’s legacy and its relevance to their own lives.

In the Lower School, students and their families were invited to campus for a family day of service in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Together, they took part in a variety of meaningful activities, including making blankets for those facing housing insecurity, creating artwork for adult memory care residents at Brightview Senior Living, designing placemats for Meals on Wheels, and crafting cat toys for the SPCA.

This Day of Service embodies Boys' Latin's commitment to honoring Dr. King’s legacy and living our core values of courage, compassion and integrity.
