Victor Dimukeje '17 Selected in the 2021 NFL Draft

Victor Dimukeje '17 Selected in the 2021 NFL Draft

This past Sunday, the Arizona Cardinals selected Duke defensive end Victor Dimukeje '17 in the sixth round. Victor is the first Laker ever to be drafted into the NFL and we can't wait to see him in action!

Dimukeje began his career at Boys’ Latin as a 10th grader and was a three-year starter for the varsity football team.  While at BL, he was a three-star recruit and was the number four defensive end in Maryland.  Halfway through his senior year, he verbally committed to Duke University, where he later became a four-year starter, an All-America selection, an All-ACC selection, and a semifinalist for the LOTT Impact Trophy, an award that honors the top defensive player in college football who makes the biggest impact for his team, both on and off the field. Before the NFL Combine earlier this year, he graduated from Duke with a degree in evolutionary anthropology.

“This opportunity means everything to me,” says Dimukeje, “As a little kid growing up, I dreamt of making it to the NFL.  Fast forward to 2021, and all of the hard work and determination paid off.”
