Fostering deep personal relationships is at the heart of a Boys’ Latin education. Our close-knit community and small school environment allow boys to develop deep, meaningful relationships with their classmates and teachers. In this unique culture, boys learn that compassion goes beyond simply showing concern for others—it is about feeling deeply for another person and being there to provide help and support however possible. Our faculty serve as mentors and guide our boys to learn compassion through practice.  Students are regularly challenged to consider the viewpoints and circumstances of others and, through trial and error, our boys continuously improve their ability to tune into others’ feelings and perspective.

The end result is we foster a community that promotes equality in all its forms. Ultimately, we graduate young men prepared to meet life’s challenges with understanding, empathy and compassion.

The Boys' Latin School of Maryland is the state's oldest, non-sectarian all-boys private school for students in grades K - 12. We provide a rich and rigorous academic program that prepares students to attend top colleges and provides them with the skills and confidence they need to be successful in the 21st century.
