Our Theater Arts program helps you discover your voice and how to lead with it.
Through drama classes and electives (8th – 12th grades), we deepen each boy’s confidence and sense of collaborative, creative expression. Act, direct, and work on the crew in our supportive “repertory-style” program in three annual productions. Talented faculty and BL theater alumni interns, our small school environment, and unique, modular Black Box Theater create the perfect artistic incubator for imagination and risk-taking.
"I still feel a deep connection with the people and community that gave me a home for five incredible years. The theater arts department, run by Mrs. Molling, allowed me to focus my energy into something that I loved, something that would eventually become a passion, and something that eventually will be my career."

Our Speech program – a long-standing Boys’ Latin tradition – develops confident public speakers and eloquent story tellers. Drama and English faculty work with each Middle School student and senior to create, write, revise and present an original speech on a boy-selected topic. Each week, a dozen live speeches are presented to the entire middle school and upper school, bringing us together as a community in the simple, impactful act of supporting each other.

Founded in 1844, Boys’ Latin School of Maryland is an all-boys private school serving boys in grades K-12. World-class faculty, challenging academics, and character development remain the hallmarks of a Boys’ Latin education. The outcomes speak for themselves, Boys’ Latin graduates attend top colleges and universities and are prepared for the real world and ready to make a difference.
