Laker Fund

Thanks to the generosity of caring alumni, parents, board members, grandparents and friends, we are able to provide our boys with a transformative educational experience.  The Laker Fund provides us with the flexibility to meet our most pressing financial needs and seize unique and important opportunities.

Your gift to the Laker Fund ensures that our students are engaged in real-world, experiential learning, that their opportunities are boundless and that they leave Boys’ Latin prepared to make their mark on the world. Your contributions cover all those ancillary costs outside of the classroom - athletics, arts, clubs, and other student initiatives. To all our donors, thank you.

Support of the Laker Fund

Your support of The Laker Fund provides vital funding for many of the school’s most pressing needs including:

  • Financial support of our faculty and staff, including enhanced compensation and professional development.
  • Financial aid for students to ensure a diversely talented student body.
  • Academics, arts, athletics and extracurricular programs fueling intellectual exploration and creating daily experiences to explore new talents and interests.
  • Improving and maintaining the school’s 72 rolling acres of buildings and grounds.

The mission of Boys’ Latin endures through these unprecedented times and we remain dedicated to educating boys and young men. Contributions to The Laker Fund from our loyal donors are making a tremendous and immediate impact affording Boys’ Latin the flexibility to respond adeptly to the most urgent ongoing operational needs due to the COVID-19 pandemic. These contributions have helped to provide emergency tuition assistance for our families, modulars and tents to ensure a safe in-person learning environment, defrayed increased technology expenses, as well as additional health and safety precautions throughout campus. In a time of continued uncertainty, we remain humbled and grateful for the support of the Laker community.

Our family's commitment to Boys' Latin comes from our strong relationship and connection with the school. Noah is an alum, class of '97, and now our three boys, Colson '30, Toby '33 and Brett '36, are all Lakers. We believe a strong future starts with strong relationships, and we value the amazing community at Boys' Latin. Our commitment to the Laker community comes from the support BL has given Noah and our sons, the friendships we have made, and the faculty, staff and alumni who continue to foster BL's core values. We give to the Laker Fund to help further the bonds and relationships between fellow Lakers, bonds that last a lifetime. We hope you will join us in making a contribution to the Laker Fund this year to support and strengthen our community. kate and noah mumah '97 p'30,'33,'36

LEADERSHIP GIVING

Donors who work to further the Boys’ Latin legacy with their leadership support of $1,844 or greater within the current school year earn membership into the Boys' Latin Society. We are grateful to these generous donors and as a small thank-you, members of the Boys’ Latin Society are invited to an annual reception.

GIVING CLUBS

Boys' Latin's giving clubs recognize dedicated donors for their investment in the future of our students and advancing the mission and values of Boys' Latin.

JACK H. WILLIAMS SOCIETY

Cumulative gifts of $25,000 or more to The Laker Fund entitle one membership in the Jack H. Williams Society.  Jack Williams, a 1938 Boys’ Latin alumnus, led the effort to find the property to build Boys’ Latin School on the grounds where it is located today.  A practicing attorney, Jack left his law firm in 1962 to become Boys’ Latin’s second headmaster on Lake Avenue.  Donors who consistently and generously give to Boys’ Latin, as Jack Williams did, become members of this society named in his honor.
