Legacy Giving and Gift Planning Ideas

Boys’ Latin is a vibrant community, where students engage in meaningful life-changing experiences every day.  At Boys’ Latin education has its roots in the timeless values on which the school was founded.  And, at the same time, always has an eye to the future, preparing students for the challenges of an ever-changing world.  This is possible because of the generous support of the alumni, families and friends, like you.  Thank you.

The investments by our donors help ensure that we will continue offering young men a life-changing educational experience for generations to come.

Gift Planning Ideas

Here are a few Ways of Giving that are popular with BL donors

The most common – and easiest – way to leave a legacy at Boys’ Latin is by including a bequest in your will or a testamentary gift in your Trust.  An idea that is growing in popularity is the designation of Boys’ Latin as the ultimate beneficiary of Individual Retirement Accounts and Donor Advised Funds.  A creative way to make a gift to BL that pays you income for life can be accomplished by charitable gift annuities or charitable trusts.

At Boys’ Latin, the phrase “Esse Quam Videri” has special meaning.  “To be, rather than to seem” is the school’s motto.  It is also the name of the legacy society at Boys’ Latin.  Everyone who makes a commitment to BL in their philanthropic, financial and estate plans is honored and recognized as a member of the Esse Quam Videri Society.

While it’s your desire to support Boys’ Latin that may be your top reason for giving, it’s also nice to know that your philanthropic act may also have a tax advantage.  Gifts to Boys’ Latin may offer you a way to reduce federal income, capital gains or estate tax liability.
