Teaching At BL:
The sophomore seminar class is designed to address the social and emotional wellness of our boys. By integrating discussion and activities in the classroom, Mrs. Kenney is able to teach life skills and explore mental health topics such as anxiety, depression and promoting healthy relationships. In her counseling, Mrs. Kenney works closely with the boys individually, and their families as needed, to tackle some of the bigger struggles that adolescent boys can encounter. She is an added resource for the students and tries to meet them where they are to navigate in a healthy way.

For Mrs. Kenney, teaching at BL and working closely with the boys is a true privilege. "I am so grateful for the boys' willingness to share challenges or struggles they may be having." In addition to the students, she thinks her colleagues are great people to work with, "BL is such a positive place to work. The faculty at BL has a true love of learning. It's genuine and authentic." She feels lucky to call so many of her colleagues friends. "I love that no day is the same here and I love that we always put the boys first."

What's More:
Mrs. Kenney is married and has three boys. She loves spending time with her family, watching her kids play sports, and reading a good book.
