Teaching At BL:
"If you build it, he will come," is what Ray Kinsella hears in the movie A Field of Dreams. This notion also sums up the credo that Mrs. Floccare lives by in the lower school library, and she takes great joy in building a library program that draws the boys in. Staying current with the latest research about boys and reading, and then being able to bring that to life in the library is one of the things Mrs. Floccare loves the most about her job. She fills the library with books, magazines, audio books, and comic books that are impossible for the boys to resist. Those who venture into the library at lunchtime are likely to find groups of boys eating lunch and perhaps engaged in lively debate about a favorite book. Mrs. Floccare says, "My greatest satisfaction comes when I can pair a boy with the book that marks his entrance into the world as a reader."

What's More:
Mrs. Floccare and her husband have four adult children, including two sons who are also graduates of Boys' Latin. When she's not in the school library she can often be found working in her parish library. Some of Mrs. Floccare's favorite activities include reading (of course!), walking her dog, camping, and traveling. A favorite guilty pleasure is an evening spent watching Dancing With the Stars alongside her daughters and granddaughter.
