Teaching At BL:
Mrs. Lange enjoys her unique role as a fifth grade teacher. "I see the boys grow and mature and eventually become the leaders of the lower school as the year progresses." She takes great pride in preparing them for the next step in their journey onto middle school.

In her classroom, Mrs. Lange likes the boys to be actively engaged and participate in their own learning. Friday Fun Days in math is an example where games related to math spark their interest and hold their attention. "I think there is nothing better than to see the boys apply something they have learned spontaneously to the outside world."

Another aspect of her fifth graders' growth is the development of their writing, which matures as they mature. She is adept at helping the boys find their writing voice and develop their skills as writers.

Over her 20-plus years experience in teaching boys exclusively, she has become an expert on understanding, motivating and inspiring young men to find the best in themselves.

What's More:
An avid cook, Mrs. Lange enjoys creating culinary masterpieces for her family and friends, as well as spending time at the Jersey Shore. Mrs. Lange is also a big fan of all of the Boys' Latin sports teams and regularly attends her students' games and events, in addition to those of her own children, including the back-to-back Cross Country Championships 2014 and 2015!

Mrs. Lange is a member of the Maryvale Prep Mother's Club and has served as chair and member of the Association of Independent Maryland Schools Annual Conference Committee at different times.
