Teaching At BL:
Mr. Freeman has always found that Indulging students in their curiosity about science and nature invigorates the student's drive to learn. Students come to class with questions about what they see on TV, or hear in the news or from other people around them, and often these questions can spark larger conversations that help the entire class gain perspective on ideas or correct misunderstandings. These contributions to the class discussion can empower students, as well, making them feel like they are a part of the learning process, and not just a spectator to learning.

What's More:
Mr. Freeman has always enjoyed sharing his interests with his students, from discussing his lifelong interest in science fiction and fantasy books and movies, to demonstrating his cooking skills in cooking club and challenging his students to become talented cooks themselves. He has traveled to many archaeological sites in Central America, and has used these experiences, along with his background in anthropology, to help students better understand the connection between culture, science, and nature when discussing ancient civilizations.
