Teaching At BL:
At BL, Ms. McGeehan is able to fully explore teaching methodologies to build stronger teacher-student and advisor-student relationships. To that end, she brings her passion of Spanish language and culture into her classroom through Latin music, online resources, pictures and artifacts from her own travels. "I love the life I've lived speaking Spanish ... my students respect that and try their best to participate in our time together."

Growing up in Southeastern Pennsylvania, Ms. McGeehan's love of Spanish gave her the courage to explore new cultures and places. Her own mastery of Spanish has helped her to grow as a person outside of her hometown bubble and Ms. McGeehan encourages her students to imagine themselves studying abroad and traveling to new places as they immerse themselves in the culture.

What's More:
Not surprisingly, Ms. McGeehan loves to travel and, through her travels, she fell in love with the flavors of Latin cuisine while discovering for herself genres of music, like Bachata and Salsa. If she can't reach a place by plane, train or automobile, Ms. McGeehan satisfies her palate by visiting restaurants that specialize in different food from around the world. Ms. McGeehan is also a trip leader for Walking Tree, a company that organizes volunteer-based travel programs for high school students to many countries throughout the world.

When she's not jet-setting, Ms. McGeehan loves to read and watch movies. Some of her favorites include Pride and Prejudice, The Princess Bride, Goonies, The Shawshank Redemption, Philadelphia, Stand by Me, Wedding Crashers and Anchorman.
