Teaching At BL:
Mrs. Rosiak's teaching methods tend to be process-oriented, focusing on tools and strategies that help students "learn how to learn for themselves." She takes pride in teaching her students how to thrive in the 21st century by learning how to manage massive amounts of content and to use critical thinking skills. Her goal is to teach each boy to maximize his own learning potential and to become an independent worker, still recognizing instances when they've exhausted all options on their own and need seek help from others.
"There is nothing better than seeing a boy walk across the graduation stage and know that he has grown in leaps and bounds," she says. Her greatest rewards come from seeing pride and confidence in her students once they hit upon success following a period of struggling and many stops and starts. Mrs. Rosiak is a firm believer in teaching her boys how to learn effective communication skills and spends a lot of time on reading and writing instruction. She is certain that the boys she interacts with are at a critical juncture in their education and is energized by the opportunity to guide them toward positive experiences so that their love of learning continues for a lifetime.
Like many of the other BL faculty, Mrs. Rosiak looks upon the school community as a family, with all of the students as "our boys" and a supportive administration that is open and willing to listen to smart, new ideas. She also appreciates that her fellow teachers don't expect the learning specialists to "fix" kids that are struggling and send them back to class. Instead, the approach is collaborative and one of "how can we work together to help each boy?"

What's More:
Mrs. Rosiak has been married to Tony since 1997 and has a stepson and two sons, both of whom attend BL (Frank, '20 and Sam, '23). Add to the mix her three brothers and anyone can see why she is so comfortable teaching boys, having been surrounded her whole life.
When she has time for herself, Mrs. Rosiak loves to read. Her favorite book is The Great Gatsby.
