Teaching At BL:
Ms. Tubman understands that the power of language comes from its ability to unite. She believes that beyond serving as a tool of everyday communication, language is a conduit of cultural awareness and connection. She brings this to the classroom with an evolving teaching method that places human connection and affect at the forefront of language acquisition.

What's More:
Ms. Tubman exercises her passion for cultural awareness by getting to know Baltimore and the world. She spends many weekends exploring Baltimore communities and projects, and her vacations are often to international destinations where she is sure to gather human stories to bring back to the classroom. Furthermore, Ms. Tubman loves horses. A professional rider for several years after college, she now enjoys riding and foxhunting as a pastime, and is a co-organizer of several local Steeplechase Races and a volunteer team leader with the Equine Rescue Ambulance. A vegetarian who loves food, she also has fun cooking, eating and spending time in her garden.

Above all, Ms. Tubman appreciates that Boys' Latin grants her the freedom to work with students in a way that best suits individuals while advancing the classroom as a whole.
