Teaching At BL:
Mr. Maisel's approach to teaching involves striking the right balance between providing a disciplined and structured, yet fun learning environment. In teaching history, he prioritizes providing his students with opportunities to understand the past while developing strong study and learning techniques.
In teaching twelfth grade U.S. military history, he brings a unique perspective as a commended military historian using artifacts and eyewitness accounts. Mr. Maisel enjoys seeing his students develop an appreciation for all those who have served, their sacrifices and hardships.

What's More:
Mr. Maisel is the curator and co-owner of The Boys' Latin Center for Military History. His lectures, displays, and research are in constant demand from museums, historical societies, colleges, universities, authors, schools, veterans organizations, private organizations, The U.S. Park Service, and the U.S. Military. Mr. Maisel's family is a family of teachers, including his father, wife Janet, two of his adult children, Chris and Claire, and a daughter-in-law, Liss. His family is also a Laker family. Mr. Maisel's son Chris is a dedicated BL alumnus and is actively engaged in running the military center. His godson, Tim Burbage, is also a BL alum. Not surprisingly, Mr. Maisel's favorite book and movie is Band of Brothers. Other things he enjoys are Irish music and the beauty of the Eastern Shore.
